What a Gas

Okay, these coping mechanisms are getting out of control. I’m talking about teachers trying to make it through this last grading period. You already know about the Easter eggs, but I have another one to share that was just revealed to me. Before I do share though, I just want to make it clear that I don’t endorse such behavior.

This teacher happens to do after school detention from time to time. All year he has been frustrated with the students continuing their acts that got them into detention in the first place. Which, if you think about it, it doesn’t make sense to put all the troublemakers together in one place. It’s like the high school version of The Legion of Doom.

His countermove for the situation is to walk by them and pass gas. That’s right, pass gas. It’s not an immediate reaction to, this farting. It is not like he does it as soon as they mouth off or cause a disturbance. No, he waits until they nod off at their desk and then comes by for a crop dusting. He tries hitting them where it hurts most, their slacking time. Why he chose this method of one upping, I’m not sure. Even more confusing is why he would share such a thing over the morning’s first cup of coffee. I’m hoping it is because of a guilty conscience. And what's with the gas blogs lately?

I understand the frustration, but I just can’t support such actions. You guys know that I’m a firm believer that teachers are members of a society, who deserve respect for the noble duty they have of facilitating education. That can’t be done with teachers blowing revenge ass. I’ll tell you this, though, I’m not going to get on this teacher’s bad side. And by, “bad side,” I mean behind him.
