A-MAZE-ing

Today’s the day—the first day of standardized state tests! Yes! It isn't even the real test. The state is piloting a new version, so this is sort of like practice.

Now, there’re plenty of you out there who criticize school systems for pushing a Drill and Kill mentality by putting too much emphasis on these tests. That’s just crazy. Why just look at lab rats. You know the ones. They run those mazes again and again to get to the cheese until they can complete the course in no time flat, and when they get released back into the wild (the real world) they thrive and—wait a second….
