Are we having fund yet?

A teacher here e-mailed the rest of the faculty about finding someone’s children’s “college fund” in the lounge and has invited the lucky soul to come pick it up at her classroom.

Now this teacher put college fund in quotation marks as if it were a large sum, so that got me to wonder what constitutes enough money for college for us monetary challenged. Unscratched lottery tickets? Does it rattle in a coffee can? Would others toss it in a fountain to make a wish?

Oh well, if it isn’t enough for college it’s no big deal. College is over rated anyway. I’ve got my Master’s and look where I am.
