Video, right ahead!

You guys know that story about the band of the Titanic playing music to keep the passengers calm as the ship went down, right? That’s what it felt like today. I just had to keep the students occupied as we sank slowly down into Spring Break. How? I used a biographical video on Fitzgerald. I know, I know—I’m not big on showing videos, but I bet those musicians weren’t crazy about their situation either. But, it’s not like they are going to remember any of the video after the break, so it’s for the best. Hey, it’s better than starting the first chapter of The Great Gatsby by reading to them and having them forget that. Of course if I did, then that would have probably been the furthest most of my students would have gotten with the whole book.
